Introduction
Hi. My name is Brandon Elliott. I'm an 18 year old writer that enjoys writing poetry, stories, and anything humorous or informative. I take pride in being a nerd, and am secretly training to be a cage fighter. Shhh.
Personal
I struggle everyday within myself. I write to try to figure things out, although sometimes my writing gives off the impression that I already have them figured out. The truth is that I'm learning every day. I believe my greatest fear is not knowing. So slowly but surely, word by word, I'm beginning to know things.
I'm not a confident person. I'm insecure, weak, and I need constant reassurance. I'm not perfect. I try to be nice all the time, but I'm a normal person. If something gets to me, I can be just as big of a prick as the next guy.
Who I Am
I'm a person. Just a person. I have feelings just like everyone else. Maybe even more so. I think love can solve a lot of problems, but it can also create many more. I also think that hate only creates problems, and solves none.
I believe we should all chase the idea of peace. I believe laughter is a necessity. I believe perfection is an opinion. And I believe opinions are perfectly biased.
I believe in creating things bigger than myself.
Education
I'm a high school graduate (Class of 2010) that will be going to college for Engineering at West Virginia University.
Why I Write
I believe all of us have thoughts that we want heard, but we are too afraid to say them. Through writing, we can release these thoughts. We can write whatever we want and not be judged for it as long as no one reads what we wrote. And even if no one reads it, it's still a release. It still takes some of the jumbled mess out of your mind.
I write because I love writing passionately. I love getting responses from people. I love the fact that I have the opportunity to make people think with words that I can pull from my head and arrange in a way that makes sense to somebody. I love the fact that maybe my writing will inspire people.
At first I was scared to write. I thought I would be criticized negatively. But so many great people on Twitter and on here have encouraged me to keep writing, and it's because of them that this blog is where it is today.
